Jewish Cemetery Linz

Data

Description

The cemetery was established in 1863; until then, the dead of the Jewish community had to be taken to Bohemia for burial. There are around 800 graves in the cemetery. It survived the Nazi period virtually unscathed, however, approximately 120 headstones are missing. A Tahara house has been preserved. The cemetery is kept locked; the key can be obtained from the Jewish Community Linz, which also provides information on guided tours.
