Jewish Cemetery Waidhofen an der Thaya

Data

Description

This cemetery was built opposite the municipal cemetery at the end of the 19th century. The former tahara house was also used as a burial hall for the Christian cemetery for a long time. There are more than 170 graves, mainly in the form of large granite stone tombs. The cemetery, which was renovated in 2021/22 with funds from the Fund for the Restoration of the Jewish Cemeteries in Austria, is locked; the key is available from the local municipal authority.
