Description

The oldest gravestone so far to be identified at Lackenbach cemetery dates back to 1729. Up to 1938, a total of around 1,750 people from the large “Seven Communities” community of Lackenbach were buried there. The cemetery is kept locked, the key is available from the local municipality during office hours. Guided tours are currently not available.

Description

Local Construction Supervisory Authority addendum

Local supervision of the construction site, creating a record of objects and damage: Upright headstones (“Stecksteine”) and relic stones as well as composite headstones

Inspection, tender vetting and enhancement of the documentation.

Restoration and conservation of graves/addendum

Group A - J (208 Upright headstones (“Stecksteine”), 86 relic stones, 16 composite headstones and 6 individual elements).

Description

Realization local construction supervisory authority

At the Jewish cemetery in Lackenbach, work must be carried out by a Master Builder and ancillary work must be undertaken. This involves the following services: restoration of the cemetery building in the northeastern area of the cemetery and the renovation of the cemetery wall. Furthermore two trees will be felled and pruning and ivy removal will be carried out. In addition the graves will be restored and preserved. This will involve structural reinforcement and preservation of the graves from the damage groups 1 and 2 (heavily or substantially damaged). Additionally, the services of the local construction supervisory authority that did not form part of sub-project 1will be commissioned.

Description

General contracting services for the restoration of the headstones in most urgent need of repair categories 1 and 2 as well as the gate house and the cemetary wall

The services to be performed by the general contracting team cover all planning/contracting work for the restoration of the headstones as well as specialized planning and production of a list of services for the construction work, the call to tender, the determination of the best bid and the senior management.

Specialized planning surveying

The planning work shall cover the entire cemetery. Site plans and contour maps will be produced on a scale of 1:500 and 1:100, in which all buildings, walls, headstones and paths shall be recorded. Additionally, all trees and foliage shall be measured and recorded.

Specialized planning landscaping

The planning work shall cover the entire cemetery. All planning work regarding landscaping, including the production of a tree cadastre, drawing up and executing a call to tender and senior management.
